We are pleased to announce that our new print ordering system is now live, we have also introduced our first gift voucher that can be purchased from here. More information on the voucher can be found below.

Our sessions usually last around 1 hour and produce around 30 high quality images for you, unlike most we don’t then try and sell you prints we simply provide you with a CD that gives you full copyright of the images so you can have them printed where you would like. We can of course recommend the places that we use for our prints, but with the CD you are in control.

The way our sessions normally work is simple, when you book your portrait photography shoot with us, we ask you some simple questions to get an idea of the type of pictures that you would like. We also ask you if you have seen any pictures that you would like to try with your family, we then build up a shoot concept ready for when you arrive. On the day we will take you straight into the studio and discuss the shoot concept with you, whilst we are discussing this we will shoot a few test shots so that everyone gets used to the camera (pictures always look nicer when everyone is relaxed). After the shoot the pictures are normally then processed and you will be sent to you via post within 7 days of the shoot. The images will also be available for you to view online in a private gallery.

New Print Prices and Shopping Cart

We have been very busy over the last few weeks getting in peoples family portrait sittings so that we can get their images ordered and delivered in time for Christmas, One thing that has become apparent is that everyone would prefer a greater selection and choice when it comes to getting their prints and other photograph related products printed. We have been looking at various options and have found a second lab that we now intend to work with, this new lab is going to be able to offer us prints at much more competitive rates however the quality is closer to that of a standard photograph than the ones supplied by our other photographic lab. We intend to offer prints from both labs simultaneously and hopefully this will also enable us to bring some exciting new products in to purchase as well including split frame canvas prints.

To go with the new products we have also been getting more and more requests for gift vouchers for our sittings, we have decided that we will be offering gift vouchers / gift experiences as a full product in the very near future and we are currently developing / testing a new ordering system that will enable you to make purchases on-line and with a credit / debit card.

We look forward in implementing these changes in the very near future and we will update you with more information as soon as we can,

IOC K Day Promotional Images

Sunday 7th October 2012 was designated The K Day by the WKF (World Karate Federation) we were pleased to be covering the HBK Karate Lincoln‘s special event to mark this day. The day was to form part of a bid to have Karate recognised as an Olympic sport and for it to make its début in the 2020 Olympic games. Over 300 cities took part in The K Day with many performing demonstrations in the streets and open areas around the world, please find a selection of the images that we took below.

UK Rescue Challenge – Lincoln

This weekend saw Lincoln play host to the UK Rescue Challenge, featuring fire & rescue teams from across the country competing head to head in difference aspects of fire & rescue situations. At JL Cre8ive Images, Photographer In Lincoln we were pleased that we took time out of our normal portrait photography sessions at the Lincoln based studio to go and have a look.

We must say the event was far better than we had expected with lots of entertainment and things for the whole family to see and do. Of course we took the camera with us and grabbed a few shots of the events taking place.

Olympic Torch Relay Lincoln 2012

Its been a busy few days here in Lincoln with the Olympic Torch Relay finally arriving in Lincoln, We are pleased to say that we were out supporting the torch bearers on the streets, and then enjoyed the festival of light festivities that were taking place on the Brayford Waterfront. We waited out all afternoon staking our pitch at the event ready for the evenings festivities only to find that we had sat behind a tree and missed most of the fireworks. We can however say it was a fantastic evening and truly a once in a lifetime experience.

We were then out if force again first thing Thursday morning to photograph the torch as it left the city, unfortunately the weather was not as pleasant but that did not stop people from turning out to support the event.

As you can expect we took hundreds of photo’s over the 2 day period but please find a selection of the below.

Wire Wool Experiments

So here at JL Cre8ive Images Photographer In Lincoln we have been looking into different ways to light images or different types of photography. When we first saw some pictures of people spinning wire wool we though WOW they look fun, so we decided that we had to give this a try for ourselves. We went out and brought some

Fine Wire Wool
A Metal Whisk
1 Meter of Rope
A 9V Battery
Lighter

Many photographers have said that a 9V battery is the best way to light the wool, we would have to disagree as we found that using a lighter meant that the wool caught on fire a lot faster.

We won’t go through exactly how we set things up as this could be extremely dangerous if not done with care, however please find an image from the experiments below.

Portrait Shoots to Web Development

Photographer in Lincoln is pleased to announce that after recent feedback from our Portrait Photography & Boudoir Photography customers we have now implemented a password protected client area to the website. This is the new location that your images will be displayed once your photography shoot is finished (whilst you are waiting for your prints or image disk).

The client area was the end to a really busy week with work ranging from family portraits to boudoir sessions and even some web development, The weekend was then taken up with some event coverage for the HBK Karate Club at an external tournament they were competing in. We are thinking about running another special offer soon like our Free April one so please check back soon for more information.
